Sympathy for the Devil - the Untold Nate Thayer Story

Sympathy for the Devil - the Untold Nate Thayer Story

I am currently working with the estate of Nate Thayer to bring to life his unpublished manuscript, essays, blogs and photography. (Formal announcement pending.)

Thayer is the American journalist who in 1997 found Pol Pot, leader of the Khmer Rouge and responsible for the deaths of millions of Cambodians in the 1970’s.

Thayer’s historic interview of another senior Khmer Rouge official, Comrade Duch, paved the way for Cambodia’s war-crimes tribunal.

I am seeking an agent and publisher.

Who Killed Haing Ngor? - I am producing a real-time and crowdsourced investigation and discussion into the 1996 murder of the Cambodian doctor, activist, actor and survivor of the Khmer Rouge. Launched February 2023.

I became a licensed drone pilot in the US in February 2023. I own a DJI Mavic Mini 3.

I recently produced “The Case Against Moses Thomas,” a multimedia exploration of witness and survivor testimony of the 1990 Lutheran Church Massacre, for which CJA won a record liability ruling in a US court. (The same link, via the CJA page is here.)

The multimedia story is part of efforts to lobby the Liberian government to hold Thomas and other alleged perpetrators of atrocities accountable for their actions. Launched November 29, 2022

I completed the Advanced Certificate program in Transnational Organized Crime Studies at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, in November 2022.

Please note: I have produced dozens of videos for UNICEF, UN Women, a law firm, and other organizations for internal use. I am not permitted to post many of those; others are simply not interesting to people outside the organization.

Here are some recent public videos, but these by no means represent my full body of recent editing or production work.

When clients shoot their own material, often on a phone; or when they record Zoom conversations instead of hiring a videographer, I hesitate to post my edits of mediocre material as evidence of my skills.

Production in the time of Covid-19!

A video I edited for Women’s Peace and Humanitarian Fund, in which speakers welcomed the launch of a new funding initiative. January 2021. (This videos is not my camera-work; it is self-shot.)

CJA’s mission is to deter torture, war crimes, crimes against humanity, and other severe human rights abuses around the world through innovative litigation, policy, and transitional justice strategies.
